First Egg Countdown

No problem!  If you do have a poult that's already a miss broody-pants, plan to use her butt for hatching in the future!  I wish my hens would help me out with hatching, but they're all freeloaders.

Should have got a contract out of them! hahaha

Hi! My 6 RIR's just started laying. The eggs are sometimes kinda odd-shaped and very small (about 1/2 size of store bought large egg). Anyone know long before they're normal sized? Are these little weird ones good to eat or should I wait til their "egg machinery" gets a little more normal? Thnx!

With in a couple weeks, and by a month they should be medium/large, after their first moult they could get jumbo!!

We have 4 buff orpingtons that are almost 17 weeks old (give or take a few days, they were 12 wks when we got them). I'm so excited, I can't wait!

Here's 3 of them, I still have a hard time telling them all apart :p

And one in the nesting box, hopefully that's a good sign! :)
