First Egg Countdown

Soo I got my second egg today! I'm pretty sure it's my barred rock since she is the most mature and the only squatter it's bigger and heavier than the first one!!! I'm happy

Morwenna laid her second egg today. She took all day preparing and calling to steve and running to the coop with him right behind her, and when I went out she had laid it and steve was lying on it, keeping it warm. He's gonna get told off when he tells her he lost it!

Congrats to Morwenna, Steve and you!

My girls are 18 weeks today and I think one of my RSLs squatted today! I'm not totally sure what that means, but when I went to pet her she squatted down and put her wings out a little bit. She's also getting pretty vocal too. Still no interest in the nest boxes though, I have a feeling I won't be finding the eggs in there when they finally arrive

. Not sure what to do about that. I put golf balls in them about a month ago and nobody seemed to care. At this point I'm okay with wherever they want to put them!

She went in the hen house to the nesting box , then 2 days later Liza laid another egg same place:) I have a Cochin - Sussex and Golden lace Wyn. No eggs yet all the same age 22 weeks

Our 22 week old silkie "Liza" laid first egg !!! Very cute little egg

OMG! My silkie didn't lay her first egg til she was 49 weeks old! Are you sure that egg was from your silkie?

Oh my 49 weeks!!! Actually from what I've read the smaller breeds lay earlier , with the larger breeds laying around 24 weeks and so far it's seems to fit in our flock:)
