Look what I found in a nesting box when I got home from work today!!! My first egg!!! I am not sure who did it, out of 18 girls several look ready. 1 Delaware, 2 EEs, and 2 Barred Rocks. Any guesses which one? They were already in bed by the time I found this, so I will inspect them tomorrow morning to try to figure out which one. But the egg was in the right spot, good hard shell and perfect shape! Sooooo eggcited!
Store bought large egg on left, mine on the right.
So cute and tiny it doesn't even register on the scale!!!

You can start counting, but you've got a bit of a wait.

Awesome!!!!!! Oh that green is the prettiest shade!Well my first egg was from a Delaware, the next day I got another egg, but when we took it out of the box, a barred rock was sitting on it, maybe she is laying too? I wasn't able to check her vent. Then today (day 3) I got another surprise from an EE. The first two days bounties are on top, todays are below. Now I have enough for each of us to have one for breakfast tomorrow. I am sooo excited!!! The wait is worth it! The other awesome part is so far every egg has been laid in the nesting boxes. Smart girls!!! By the way they are 22 weeks old today and getting 12 hours of light a day.
