First Egg Countdown

Got my 1st pullet egg today!!!!!!! Pic will be in new thread.

I got my first egg today.

..beautiful brown one. 1.8 ounces. Matched in size to the store bought white ones just a little skinnier. I was surprised it was a brown one as I thought the first one would be white ones from one of the Blue Andalusian pullets. The girls are all 16 weeks and 2 days (from when they came home from the store). The only one I can imagine being ready is the black sexlink or the Rhode Island White. Even though their combs and waddles are only about 1/2 the size of the Blue's. It is a mystery. This is so much fun. I can hardly wait for the next one.

) and 3 EEgers hens
First time ever owning chickens so the wait is unbearable!

I am on egg watch every day will post pic of first egg when it happens.. Think I got one on the verge of laying soon

The Black Chicken is missy

And I have another Black one too. They are around 16 weeks old... The red ones are Production reds and the black ones are Silver laced Wyandotte's

I'd like to join this thread! Yes I'm also anticipating my first egg

I only have one Pullet, so she has a huge responsibility! Her name is Hawk and she was days old when we "adopted" her at the end of March. So she is turning 6 months old soon, and we can't wait for her to lay! i will post pictures some other time, because I don't have any of her on this computer

When do silkies lay? it's taking soooo loooonggg but it's nice to know u all are right along with me!

Yes I have 3 Silver Welsh Harlequins 1 Hen and 2 Drakes!! and thank you so much I love my babies!!
