First Egg Countdown

So eggcited! Came home today to find 8 eggs! 1 from all the girls today!

, Are Lucky's eggs very pointy on one end? Ours are laying eggs like that, pretty small, but perfectly shaped and the shells are so tough! Nothing at all like store bought eggs.

You know, they are a bit more pointy than the leghorns, but a couple of the EE's lay point ones too. They are VERY smooth though. I spoke too soon earlier. Went to the coop this afternoon and caught Lucky in the act. Dotty jumped up on the roost to talk to me and I noticed her comb for the first time. Looks like she may be a getting close now too! The day I get 15 eggs will be a happy day!

I know what you mean, I'm looking forward to the day that I see 13 eggs!

Today, my sweeties were free ranging all day, so nature got any eggs that may have been laid out there. I don't mind, we have lots of little wild critters that could use them, but I don't want it to be a regular thing!

I am on day 4 or 5 of getting 4 eggs from all 4 girls!!! No one has taken a day off yet since they all became regular. Happy chicken Mama!!

I gathered all my Marans eggs this morning and went out this afternoon to see if the EEs had left me any. I was distracted by one of the EE girls spinning circles in the corner of the coop. She looked at me, stopped and laid an egg right in front of me!!! Silly girl, that's not where they go but thanks for the show. Then I checked the boxes and found a blue egg and a light brown one! That's six!!! Six!!! I'm guessing today was the day for one of the Australorps! They are having fun surprising me daily! Only eight left to lay. At this rate they'll all be laying by next week!!! Woohoo!!!
