First Egg Countdown

Well I got another first egg today. I am not sure who laid it though. I have been preoccupied with my broody hen who hatched 4 chicks. I will try to pay better attention tomarrow and post which one. Here is the egg it is speckled.


Love that speckled shell! Wonder if they'll all be like that! Variety in the egg basket!

The girls are 23 weeks old and they are Buff Orpingtons. I was so excited to see those eggs in that nest box I started crying.

Wow - 23 weeks is a long wait! Good for you!! Can't believe they both gave you an egg on the same day!

Of our three oldest only one is laying, and has been for 9 days now...Ready for the other two to come on now !!

Finally it happened, my girls have started laying! I am so eggcited.

Today she layed her second egg but smaller so I don't think its a double. I have 3 out of 5 laying now and less than 17 weeks old. These girls are rocking..

No kidding! My girls didn't start laying until well into the 26th week. They are very reliable, but the wait was excruciating (in a good way). Lol!

Well my mystery egg layer is my barred rock mix, Loki. She laid another speckled egg this morning. Loki is almost 17 weeks old.
