First Egg Countdown

Got my 1st egg when I came home tonight!!! What a wonderful end to a very long day at work. This was after I removed my aggressive hen.

It was from a NHR, age 16 weeks tomorrow....

Noticed that when I came home after work late last night, a hen was not on the roost, but the nest boxes had been laid in, or tested. It was very smooshed down. A full round shape. But nothing in it, nor this morning.

Came home tonight and there is was, as beautiful as it could be! Have no clue who it was, but thanked them all. Said goodnight, and came in to take pics......to eat or save? May have breakfast tomorrow !!!

sweet. that would make a long day better. If I dont get an egg by this time next week they are all fired.

I got three eggs yesterday, found one in the run. I think it might be Darla's, but her comb just isn't all that red yet, so it IS possible that it was my 16 week old Ophelia. Darla's just putting all her time and effort into growing into a monster sized godzilla chicken with the fluffiest butt in town. I should post a pic of it, it's pretty epic.

A beautiful little girl named Amelia. 7lbs 4oz and 19 inches long.

They live close by so we get to see her regularly. I would post a picture of her but I haven't figured everything out on here yet.

I am sure glad Darla and the girls are getting their act together for you.

Thanks for the info. I sure am enjoying this thread and everyone's excitement.
