First Egg Countdown

I know!!! Right!?! I don't know why the aren't more popular either. Well, I must admit....I'm super jealous of ur eggs! Lol. All mine that are old enough to lay, lay a few different shades of brown. I have a 9 week old EE that I can't wait until she starts laying!! I'd also like to get a few that lay the really dark chocolate colored eggs too. See, this is where chicken math comes into play for me. It's not really that I want this breed and that, it's that I want this colored Egg and that. Lol. Oh boy!! Thank goodness poor DH just smiles and nods his head at most of my requests. LOLOL.
So, I see you have green, pink, blue and yellow. Are those all just from different EE's?

HA!

In response to my friend who asked about their popularity... I responded thusly...

"They aren't more popular because EEs are the Taylor Swifts of the egg laying world, Leghorns and ISA Browns are the Beyonce videos of the egg laying world, and the industry is Kanye West."

My husband said to me the other day... "I want a French Black Copper Maran. They lay really cool dark brown eggs."

I, of course, did nothing to discourage his enthusiasm.

That's awesome about your husband being so on board. My DH isn't really an animal guy, we have them b/c I love them and want them, he's just very tolerant. However....we got Nigerian Dwarf goats in Sept. and he's all about those little guys!! It's quit funny to watch and listen too. He's also become very fond of our little 9 week old chicks. Pretty cute!!
Finally, after 12 1/2 years of marriage, I've turned him!! Bwahahahahahahaha.......

Haha, aren't husbands cute? Mine pretends to be exasperated whenever new eggs show up in the mail, but he mother-hens the incubator, and videotapes each hatching (with commentary). The big softie :p

She did it! Bug's first egg, laid today (11.13.12)!

The egg is a lot darker in person than in the photo...

She is my first Olive Egger, and the egg is a BEAUTIFUL dark "olive" green. :) I'm so proud of her. :)
