First Egg...Second Egg

I received my first egg from one of my RIR's and it's the best feeling! She popped it out at about 3.30pm, when will she next lay and will it always be at that time? Is there a chance of finding the next egg tomorrow morning or afternoon when she laid it before? Or will she need a little rest lol!

So... I got my first egg 3.30ish Friday, Second 3ish Sunday so expected the third to be today about 3ish again, but nothing... anyone help?

Congrats on your first egg

One of my hens laid her first 6 eggs in 6 straight days, another one took 4 days off between 1st and 2nd egg. The rest of my hens were somewhere in between.

It is a good feeling to get that first egg....unfortunately mine was broken. But congrats to you and I too am waiting for that 2nd egg. Hoping today. Good luck to you.

Congrats! Know how exciting this is since my hens just started laying this week too.

To date we have gotten 5 eggs one each day - don't know who is laying but sure fun to find them in the morning and evening

You won't get your eggs at the same time everyday. Now different breeds lay different amount of eggs but I read that a hen will lay an egg about every 26 hours. So once she is laying regularly it should be about an hour or so later that she lays the egg everyday until she takes her day or 2 off. It's pretty neat to watch. I would see my on EE start to lay in the morning and everyday she laid later and later until she took a day off.

She laid her first egg about 4:00pm on friday, it's now sunday 12 noon (GMT+0)

Sometimes they'll wait a couple of days before you get #2.
