FIRST EGG!!

I know how you feel, I got my first one 3 days ago and I ran in the house and ran toward my son he covered his face like I was going to throw it at him. Lol then yesterday I sat out with them in the morning and saw 3 of my girls lay eggs! Only 2 today but it's like waiting for a baby to be born! So exciting! Congrats!
Haha :lau that's halarious! Congrats on you eggs! It is very exciting!
Woohoo, that's so exciting! I can't wait until mine start laying!
Thanks! Good luck with your girls! The first egg will come before you even know it!
Congratulations! :wee
Thank you! :)

I got 2 more today!! They are soooooo yummy! They have such a better texture than store bought and a better, richer flavor!

Congrats! I too am new to raising chickens and when I saw that first egg it's like a rush! I was surprised by how exciting it was to get that first egg. I think it's so exciting because you've already put a lot of time, effort and expense into raising them and then suddenly, one day, there's a yummy reward! It's really fun and you want to show off that first egg to anyone that will look at it! It's also validation that you're doing a good job raising them and got them to this point.

I actually considered not eating that first egg and preserving it like a trophy. lol! I didn't do that but the thought crossed my mind. I ended up frying it and cutting it into thirds and shared it with my husband and daughter. Enjoy eating that first egg!

Yay! Are yours tiny? I have gotten 6 over the last 3 days and they are smaller than the golf balls in the nests. Lol I'm being told they will get bigger, I certainly hope so. I haven't tasted ours yet, they are just so cute. Congrats!

Yes! It was like, "OMG! We did it!" We took these sweet little fluffy chicks, we didn't know what the heck we were doing (well, we didn't anyway) and after weeks of research and education and caring for these sweet girls, we have eggs!
