First Egg

I just had to post because so proud of my girls. My girls are not freeloaders waiting till spring after all. First egg layer of my 28 week pullets. Likely my Golden Buffs because they tend to lay earlier than the Barred Rock and Speckled Sussex since get to breed weight/maturity faster. Yeah! There is hope for you all you ladies and gents yet for whom your pullets have not yet laid. No I do not add lighting in the coop. Thanks for all your helpful advice and patience for those on BYC who got me here.

Nice, you got the first egg, yesterday.
I got my first squat today, from my Barred Rocks. 18 weeks old. . She was pecking around a nest when I was filling the feeder. I add light in the morning at 5 am. Hopefully ill find an egg by January. Congrats. GC
