First egg!!!!!!!!

Finally! This was my first time raising day old chicks and I’m so glad we did it- our 7 ladies are sweet as can be and that just makes caring for them so easy. The chicks arrived May 28, all “Sapphire Splash” from Hoover’s via TSC.
Rickets laid it near the nest box, so I guess she gets points for trying- it looks like she kicked a golf ball out of one before she laid it in the corner of the coop and now Cruella is scratching around in a nest box, so today may bring us our second egg (fingers crossed).

such pretty ladies! getting your first egg is so so exciting, one of my girls laid her first 4/5 days ago. i actually got to watch her lay her 4th one today! such a cool experience

My chicken layed today as well!!!! She layed a farely small one...but I love it!!!!! Same egg day!
