Hello friends!

We got our first egg this morning!!!

I’m wondering if anyone might know which duck breed it came from? We have Magpie, Blue Swedish, Black Swedish, and Cayuga.

I thought maybe Cayuga, but I’m not sure if the color is right

I’m wondering if anyone might know which duck breed it came from? We have Magpie, Blue Swedish, Black Swedish, and Cayuga.

No guess here, but a little experience worth sharing. The coloring isn't always perfect on the first egg. Even the shape can be weird. Double yolks are also possible, but I never had a double yolk in my duck eggs personally. The bird's body is figuring it out still.

This is what my Cayuga lays the one in the middle sometimes darker sometimes lighter. I don’t have the other breeds. Congrats on the first egg!!

Congratulations on your first egg! It's always sooo fun! I don't have any experience with ducks though, so no ideas here...
