As you all know, winter is tough on hens and they often stop production during this time of year.
So, while I was feeding my chickens I drifted over to my Black OEGB pen and look in the nest boxes and was shocked to find what was in there. Every box had one or two eggs in them so I rush on over to my shed and grab my egg basket labeled "BOEGBs" and collect my eggs. There were about 26 total. I zoom into my bed room and start up my old 1930's incubator( I have used this thing since I was 5 yrs. old). So this will be my first hatch of the year and I have a strange feel ing that when I go to check my others, more eggs will be waiting.=D

I have an old 1920's incubator. They're great aren't they?!?! The weather has been so weird this year. I have some birds laying that shouldn't be and birds that should be laying that aren't. UGH!!

Good luck on your egg collecting today. I'm dreading it because we're in the middle of a huge thunderstorm here in northeast Tennessee.
