First ever hatch!

I am starting my first hatch also! I'm a nervous wreck. I'm hatching blue laced red wyandottes :) I'm so worried about the temp and humidity but I guess it will work out either way! Good luck with all yours!

Congrats! I'm a nervous wreck too lol don't feel bad. I think everyone probably is their first time around. I accidentally dropped an egg this morning while I was turning it :(

I dont think they were at that temperature for very long. When I went over to the ranch...it read 100 degrees. I was gone for two hours. I dont understand how it jumped up that high in just two hours. Both sponges had dried (I had not wet them this morning). Since then I've been monitoring every 30 minutes....and I've been between 100&104. Humidity 39-50 percent. I REALLY AM going to ge a mmanufactured incubator. I just can't regulate this homemade one at all. I just hope I got the temp back down soon enough. :-/

What size light bulbs are you using ???

And you might want to go get a thermostat that is a little more accurate to turn the light on and off as needed and have you checked out the egg thermometer that way you know the temp of the egg and not the interior temp of your bator ...... Only a suggestion as there might be a difference in readings .......

First hatch great to have you joining in but you might want to keep records of the daily events even if it is on here that way you can go back and see what you did correctly and what you need to improve on later ....
