First ever hatch!

An update on my 9 incubated eggs. I candled yesterday and I think my eyes aren't as good as they use to be. I didn't see any veins or embryonic movement. I did see air sacs in all of them though. I thought maybe my spike in temp to 108 killed all the eggs. I candled again last evening and ended up dropping an egg. It was full of veins and had a growing embyo. :-\
 
I candled again today and saw 2 wigglers. Then I dropped another egg.../GEEZ! Once again...growing embryo. Now I only have 6 left. I'm going to try to keep my hands off for a few days. I guess I didn't kill them with the temperature spike, but feel aweful that I've dropped TWO!

Funny how life repeats itself ,,,,, I have had the same thing happen many times so I have a folded towel that I set the egg's on as I pull them out and I candle over the towels so if I drop one it lands on the towel and lessons breakage ......


Great to know you are getting some growing embryos

I dropped another one this morning too!:( it didn't crack open but there's a small crack in it. Is it still safe to incubate if the membrane hasn't broken??
 
But on the plus side, most of mine are fertile I think. I candled again last night. I need to keep my hands off as well. I can't believe we both dropped another one :(

You do use non toxic clear nail polish correct .....  

or like I said clear tape ....

I ended up putting some candle wax over the crack, someone sent me a link to a thread where several people had eggs cracked far worse than mine and they used candle wax or tape and the eggs did just fine
