Five eggs pipped, the first two chicks hatched and flipped over three of the pipped eggs, I removed the chicks and righted the pipped eggs, but now the eggs aren’t progressing and it’s been over 5 hrs. the membrane in the pip is grey on one and brown on another. There was blood in the membrane of the now brown spot when I flipped it. The eggs were lightly chirping... I lost a chick earlier that unzipped 3/4 but got flipped and stopped. What should I do?

grey sounds fine. and the brown one is just because of the blood. if they're still making noise they're alright. do you know approximately how long ago they pipped, have they tried to zip yet? if they have started zipping (not just a secondary pip, but full on zip) and they've stopped it might be time to help.

They had started to unzip a bit but had stopped when they got flipped, I think my mother may have opened the incubator more than she admitted to, I had to drive to the other end of the property to feed some of our cows, and she saw the chicks flailing on their backs and opened it “once or twice” to help the chicks up while I was gone. I broke down and helped them a bit, just to get their beaks clear... I had to do that to one in my other incubator yesterday and it came out fine. They pipped over 12 hours ago and looked good until I left...

could you post a picture? usually I say wait for the 24 hour mark, but if they've started to zip they should be progressing.

if you're unsure how to post pictures. just above your text box is a blue bar, there's a little square next to the smiley face, that's the upload picture button.

The first was the brown spotted membrane, second the grey... the peeps were sounding weaker when I chipped away the shell, now the beaks are out they are breathing better, the inner membrane was all dry looking as well... my humidity is at 80% temp is stable between 98.9-99.5f

I had an early Hatcher at day 19... I’m now at the end of day 21, 6 hatched today and 5 yesterday, 12/37 are out and there’s the three pipped and flipped babies, no motion from the rest yet... the eggs looked good when I candles before lockdown, I culled the infertile and early deaths, the eggs weren’t really clean when I started, but I didn’t wash them... with what they cost I figured better to try them as they were.
