First Hatch Ever! - Set 2/4/2013

Don't worry, I think at the end of day 20 for me I had just gotten my first pip

X2 My first pip was on day 21, and they hatched through day 23.

I actually just set 38 more eggs. Someone told me I was addicted ... I don't think its that big of a problem ...

It's so much fun! Plus it's not like we're breeding future feral cats... or pitbulls and trying to sell them as labs on CL. SMH...

We have our very first pip!

YAY!!! So exciting!!!

They're are probably all going to be mutts. Some might be purebred partridge Cochins because I have a female and male partridge Cochin (he's the only roo I have). The little chick is peep peep peeping! Can you tell this is my first hatch? Lol! I can tell this is gonna be a long night!

This was my first hatch too and it was amazing! I don't think I can incubate anymore though... I would sit there all day and noseprint the windows all day!

Great! Thanks for asking! I have 2 babies out and 4 more pips! This is so exciting. I was watching one egg hatch and got it on video, and the next thing I knew is that I saw a head out of another egg!

Haha! One pipped sometime between 1 a.m. this morning and 6:30 this morning and it still hasn't made much progress at all! Another pipped 60-90 minutes ago and hasn't made progress either. Is this okay?

Yup, I had one my first one that pipped was about the 7th one that hatched. I was very worried about it. I actually chipped a bit of shell away thinking it was stuck but saw a vein and stopped immediately. She just wasn't ready. Gave her more time and she came out when she was ready. Every single one of mine that pipped. Even the two that pipped on the wrong end came out good.

Sometimes they just pip for air but arn't ready to come out. There's a link on this. Let me try and find it and I'll post it.
