Hybrids have always happend. Between birds, mammals even reptiles. There are even reports of human /neanderthal hybs.

So, now, we must dump milllions of dollars into discovering that sharks are aware that humans are destroying the environment and making sharkfin soup.

I'm thinking that there's actually a bar somewhere, where the sharks go to socialize and after midnight, one species starts looking good to the other species.
