First quilt block swap 2016

The smaller 4 patches are to be Blue and Cream in all the blocks is that correct?
Does the blue in these four patches need to be the same blue through out our blocks?

Yes the 4 patches all need to be blue and cream in all the blocks and in each block the blue and cream needs to be the same but the blue and cream can be different from another blue and creme in a different block. so we have some sort of unity I hope that makes since. So block "A" blue and cream are all the same, but in Block "B" the blue and creme can be different from block "A" or you can keep the all the same in all 24 blocks. Just as long as the blue and creme is the same in its own block. The other squares can be the same or different in each block. Like in Anna6's blocks the blue and cream is the same in that block but her tan could have been all different or the tan can be the same as in her block, that part you can play with as long as the colors are manly. Anna that is easier but it will give a different pattern to your blocks,

Our chain will be in blue and cream, but the other squares can be the same or different

personally I'm going to follow the diagrams pattern but make each block a different manly color so it will be more like the over all diagram remember the 4 patch is blue and cream, so that will tie our blocks together.

I've been studying the block instructions, and it says it makes a 12" block.

But they mean 12 1/2", right? If each piece starts out at 3 1/2" and you sew four of them together, you get 12 1/2", don't you?

I like to square up my blocks and I want to be certain that the finished block is supposed to be 12 and one-half inches, not 12 inches as it says in the instructions.

Also, I'm new at this - we each make 24 blocks and then what - do we send them to the hostess for distribution or ... ?

It makes a 12 inch finnished block after it is put together as a quilt top. So it is 12 1/2 inches unfinished. Please do not square them up. The blocks you are sending should be 12 1/2 inches unfinished blocks.

yes don't square them up 12.5 so they after sewed will be 12" when you are ready closer to due date you pm me for my address and then you send all 24 blocks to me with a SASE so I can sort and ship back to you, what ever it costs for you to send the blocks to me is how much postage to either put on your return envelope or include money, I don't mind buying stamps, and please include your screen name on your package somewhere on inside or outside when you get a bunch of packages it is difficult to keep all straight with real names,!!! remember we are here so ask as many questions you want.
