First Real Snow Event in Five Years for Central Missouri

It is kind of fun. Had to pick up student to get her in to care for stock in lab. Took almost an hour to drive what normally takes 15 minutes. Now loading up fish to take to the University of Missouri so vet students can learn how to work on those. That drive will likely take well over an hour. Then come back, pickup student again and drop her at home, then we go and have so chicken fun in the snow baby! This is snowman snow for sure. Kids will be in heaven and dog with pee on their efforts.

Pictures of the mess. I missed kids playing in snow.

We got a mere dusting of snow overnight and only this one hen would come out and walk in it.....tempted by scratch feed. And it isn't all that cold, 29º. They've all seen snow before, I am surprised.

Mine also reluctant. Free-range birds based in barn a behaving just like free-range in pens and bird penned directly in snow covered field. All are staying roost. Most will come down to fill crops just before dark but otherwise stay on roost. The totally free-range birds would typically move to protected locations to loaf, but even those locations are snow covered.

I have some cool images to show in a moment. We got an additional inch or so last night.
