First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

Thanks all. The Ag Inspector took a good look at what she has going next door too and she will be hearing from him as well. I really feel like you should never open a can of worms that you are prepared to deal with yourself. I don't do that to people. It' shocking when they think they can do it to you.

You know what's also fun? He is a fellow Cornish Cross raiser. He likes to raise them like you Ralphie. He said his dinner the night before was a 12 pound CX hen that was delish!

I love your toad pics Ralph. They are adorable.

Get that fox Mountain Mom!

Ive trapped foxes before. There is a method that seems to work well for me. First thing is i butcher a rabbit, saving enough of the innards to fill up a qt. Mason jar about 3/4s of the way. I then top it off with honey. Mix it up a little. Seal the jar. Let it set for 24 hours. I use steel traps. I build a stick den with an opening of aprox 14" x 14" that is about two ft deep. Think log cabin. The bait goes all the way to the back of the den. The trap, set flush with the ground is set about 6inches inside the cabin :) I allways use drag poles on the traps. Traps need to be smoked or set out to get rid of the human smell. Rabbits are an irresistible natural prey. This bait has stood me well on foxes and possums. Hope it helps
