Jessica- Isn't that why we all are obsessed with chickens?! It is for me.

There is a facebook group called Colorado Chickens or some such thing. I made the mistake of joining so I could locate some pullets about to lay... I sure hope I don't suffer from chicken math before I build another coop for everyone...

I did bring home a couple of little cuties though. 2 Ameraucana pullets. Affectionately named Falcon and Mrs. Clause (formerly Winter, but why it changed, I will never know. 5 year olds are hard to understand).
I will try to get some pics of them today. They are pretty shy.

I got my cx and rainbows from hoovers hatchery and have had good luck thus far @ 9 weeks I've lost 2 out of 40

I was going to say Hoovers too, you are not that far from them so it would be an easy trip for the birds in their box.

They lay great! I was getting 5-6 eggs a week off them this spring and summer, I have no idea who is laying now, as I have them in one big coop and not separated.

I'm thinking about keeping 12 hens and 2 roosters out of this batch of rainbows to replace my layer flock I lost to weasels a while back you got me think in about holding back a few cx pullets as well I kinda like them toads!
