First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

I much rather use the white birds (note: Chanteclers) for my Capon project. They clean up so much better for the general public. For my part, I have no problem with dark pinfeathers and the unusually grim '5 O'clock shadow' they leave all over the birds back but it is a bit un-attractive to some who are paying a super premium price for a bird.

One has to give the public what they want if you expect them to pay for it.

Yeah, HYPP is a lovely little reminder of that stud's genetics... The HYPP Pos/Neg horses are pretty cool, all the "natural" muscle with less of the issues of the full blown HYPP horse.
I don't know about that. I've known a number of HYPP N/H horses and they still have plenty of issues. They do live longer, but it's still not fun dealing with a 1400# horse having seizures.

Causes huge muscling in all horses that have it, regardless of exercise, which is why it is so widespread, people liked that about it. But then the bad started coming to light. Seizures are one of the bad affects. They have to be on very protein restricted diets and don't live as long as they should due to the issues.

The reason it was brought up is because this is tied to a stallion and is very widely spread through his genetics regardless of the mares bred to him.

There are horses that a positive, they should not be bred at all, they will produce either completely positive horses or kind of half positive horses, the ones that are kind of half positive show the muscling but don't have quite the health problems as the positives but it's still not good.
