First, Second, Third and on and on Incubator hatch help appreciated

I wouldn't stress that too much....one of those things where the chickens, and their eggs, do not read the 'rule' book. My hatches range from 19 to 23 days.

Agreed, but most folks have silkies hatch early, rather than late, so I don't think testing the temperature would hurt.

Awsome I am still baffled with the hatching this time around. I want to nail down the 21 day hatch but it seems to be more 22 and 23 for us and the hen. My only guess is temp off in begging or the eggs don't start developing right when Sat under the hen or even right away in our 1st hatch.
The eggs coming in were pricier than I ever thought we would spend on eggs. But even with a 50% hatch we should get some stunning birds. And I'm shooting for 70% on the shipped eggs. Where we were closer to 57.142% on the silkies in the 1st hatch.

That's a really good rate with shipped eggs
And we are trying to duplicate a chicken with a machine
Think about it
And have you ever seen an egg or chick wearing a watch?
It's just trying to get it as close as possible

Lol. We hatched 5 and 6th died upside down and never piped. The hen hatched 2 and is still on 3 eggs but I don't believe she will hatch anymore. Last night we peeked and there was no movement in those eggs. We will leave them with her a couple more days but I'm sure the 3 died but time will tell.

14 Silkie eggs showed up today and airsack look great. Letting sit 24 hrs. Still waiting on 18 frizzle ans sizzle eggs. They were delayed and should be here tomorrow. I'll get some pics when they show up. Incubators cleaned up and drying out as we speak.

Also Sam picket up a non mercury rectal thermometer in town. Lol she asked the pharmacy for a old school thermometer and that what the sold her. It seems within .4 degrees F of the temp set in the incubator. The incubator does not have a traditional thermometer in it I can calibrate.
Ant thoughts
