Okay let me explain. I have three flocks. Flock 1,2,and 3. Flock 3 is under a year old. It orginally was 6 chickens but one turned out to be a rooster. In our house we sadly have to give away our roosters. So we did. At that time flock 3 layed two eggs. We candled them just in case and one of them kind of looked fertile. We have a broody hen from flock 2 so we decided to try it. Almost everyday we would candle it to check on it. That started two weeks ago. Now its day 19. Our Broody hen is sitting on the maybe fertilized egg. We put the others hens from flock 2 away from them. Now we are into lockdown and I NEED HELP! I don't know how it works, do I just leave her alone? When should I candle? I just made an account, Some help would be apprecated! I'm sorry if I messed up grammer or spelling, please help me!
Do not interfere. Let your broody do all the work. When she gets up to eat, drink, stretch, etc you can always candle the eggs to check for quitters and remove them in case they explode and compromise the rest of the eggs. Best of luck and keep us posted!!!!!
Good luck on the hatching chicks!
