First Time Egg Candler Scared!

3 have hatched one more has pipped. Managed a few hours sleep. Woke up to a problem. It appears that there is a dent the size a bit smaller than a nickel close to the pointy end. It appears to be from the outside in and there is some blood. possibly from the others running around. Is it still possible that the chick will make it? Poor little thing.

This really sucks. Here is a pic.

Cole, I have 2 ten day old silkies and I put a little shallow dish of sand (I bought a bag at the pet store) into the brooder and they take dust baths! It is so funny & so adorable to watch!! Try it, you'll get a good laugh!
That is so cute, 2 of mine are a week old today. And one is 5 days old

There is also an older one pecking the pipper. Don't know if it's trying to help it out or what?
Mine did this too, it is fine for them to be pecking. As for the one with blood I am not sure, but give it some time to do its thing, then tonight tell us whats going on. Try playing this to motivate it. http://youloop.org/loop.php?v=Rq4XEGpJb60

I'm assuming that you want to give them a bath because they still have dried membrane and not so fluffy spots??  You just use warm water. You can use a little cup or bowl as a tub or just wet them real good with a warm wet washcloth. I would use dawn blue dish detergent if you needed a little soap. Who was it that said they used baby shampoo??  Just keep their head out of the water and don't let water get in their nose. Make sure you dry them off well. Some people even use blow driers...lol  And get them back under their light.
thanks that also helped me to

My chicks are constantly getting poop stuck to their butts

. Is there anything I can do. Also they only seem to eat when I throw the food on the floor.
