First Time Egg Candler Scared!

Well, I have come to the conclusion that all 13 of my eggs were infertile, today is day7 and I candled could see NOTHING but yolk. :(, my parents want me to keep them in untill day 21 but I know I will get nothing. :(

Maybe I should have said shadowed, like a silhouette. Me easter eggers and cuckoo marans, all I can see by day 18 is a dark mass and maybe a vein or two in a lighter egg
Wouldn't that be below the air cell?

Not going to hurt to leave them in for a while longer, (unless they start smelling.) Hey, what's it hurting, you don't have to pay the electric bill,

I wouldn't leave them in the whole 21 days though if there is nothiing going on after day 10, but always listen to your parents, it makes things easier.

Good point. I candle them fat side down, so I misspoke. Jeez...

Even if that is too many, I would think that at least some of my eggs would be fertile.
Most roosters cover a lot more than 6 and even if a hen isn't laying a roo will stll mate her. They really don't care about eggs. Most roos could cover all 15 hens, but like I said, some roos pick their favs and ingnore the rest.

So you flip your eggs to candle? I know its not supposed to hurt, and I see plenty of pics of them that way. Maybe its even beneficial? I just keep them fat side up, start with the air cell, then move the light all around the egg. I hate to "disturb" their position very much! Lol
