First Time Egg Candler Scared!

What does the brownish/yellow color mean?
Instead of papery white, (which is what you want to see) when membranes start drying out you see them turn a yellowish brown color and the membrane becomes leathery. Usually this is a signifier that the chick is becoming glued in by the membrane and fluids drying to him. How comfortable are you doing an assisted hatch?

Not very but at this point it seems like all I can do. I tried to help him earlier, and got a little bit of the shell, can you explain if I take him out of bator or just take bator lid off? What do I need to do? Do I do the whole zip or just a little peice?

Amy, so since the membrane is stuck then do i have to pell that off him?
Give me a sec and I'll give you some instructions.
