They are the very first chicks I have hatched via an incubator! The yellow first and the grey one 2nd. Unfortunately I've no idea what they are, we have a slightly mixed flock of mongrels and random breeds and an orpington cross roo! Still, they are cute and I'm so proud!
Of the 14 eggs that made it to lockdown, 5 are left to hatch- one is in progress so I'm keeping everything crossed.
Lol how funny! Today is day 20 for me so I'm curious if I'll have any early pips or not.As of this morning to have 5 very loud chicks trying escape rhe incubator hahah
Awww how adorable! So what are your plans now? Going to hatch more? I think I have incubator fever and must hatch more! LolOk so a summary of my first hatch for all of you:
Brinsea Mini Advance
One got dropped
2 duds (never developed)
4 made it to lockdown
all 4 hatched!
No assistance needed
I propped the eggs up on little thingies because they were rolling around a lot
I opened the incubator many times
One internal pip on day 18
3 internal pips and an external pip on day 19
two hatched and 2 external pips on day 20
day 21: remaining two hatched overnight day 20-21
final: 4 fluffballs

I'm not gonna hatch more for now. I don't think i'll be able to handle more babies!Awww how adorable! So what are your plans now? Going to hatch more? I think I have incubator fever and must hatch more! Lol
I completely understand that lol we are replenishing our older laying hens so I will have room for these and that is it for layers. We did this batch as a test to see how well the incubator works etc and then will start hatching American Bresse to build up a self sustaining meat flock so I'll be ordering those eggs in a couple more days.I'm not gonna hatch more for now.
