first time hatching goose eggs :o

I probably wouldn’t notice a damp spot on a duckling or gosling...mine seem to be perpetually wet

Update on my hatch: 6 pips, 2 of them are starting to zip :D
I’m not a huge fan of the forced air hovabators for lockdown, so I’m keeping a close eye in case they get a little dried out and need help.
So far so good! I’ve been adding water through the vent occasionally to help keep it nice and humid. I normally lockdown in a still air, but I have turkey and chickens hatching in there this weekend.

yay! what goose breed are they again? :)

quails are super quick to unzip, i bet you won't be waiting too long ahaha, last time i had 6 chicks out, and other eggs with external pips, went upstairs 30 seconds to get my phone to take a pic, and they were already 7 :D
Is is my 6th (I think) time hatching quail eggs.
So far it seems like mine pip then start hatching right about 24 hours later.
I have to double check my notes but I'm pretty sure I won't have any babies until morning time.

yeah, same thing happened with my 2 batches :) unzip times were very variable, quickest was the one i was talking about, 5 hours was the longest if i recall correctly :) the goose also took around 24 hours before *attempting* to unzip heheh, good luck with your hatch! How many eggs are they?

Not enough.

This time I only have a measly 6.

They’re Pilgrim :)

@Texas Kiki I either have the 24 hour wait to start zipping or mine will pip and zip same day. That’s with turkeys, ducks, pheasants and chickens. Seems the geese will be the same way.
 pheasants! I'd love to hatch some, but i don't have the space for them unfortunately :(

right now i have:

5 chickens (2 roosters and 4 hens)
18 quails (4 males and 14 females)
5 geese (1 female adult and the 4 goslings)
and soon some runner ducks :)
