Surface area. It's not the depth, but the surface area is what Cynthia is trying to say. You can fill one well half full or full full and it will produce the same amount of humidity.

Two half filled wells are going to give you more humidity than one full filled well. And yes, temp is the most important. You have plenty of time to average out humidity, but temp will make you or break you.

This sounds so much easier! My temp has been stable at 100 to 101 for a good 6 hours now and the humidity has been 36 to 37 with water in 2 wells. It's pretty dry in my house so I'm a little afraid to leave it with no water...but I'm tempted to try this completely dry method.....

Ok ok ok....I think it's time to start over. I'm gonna turn it off and take the water out. Run it for 48 hours dry and see what happens.

Sounds like a good idea, I love scientific experiments. Remember, eggs will raise the humidity level, but only a little bit.

I know! Me too. Although, I have issues keeping the humidity LOW because my house is regularly at 55%lol.

My Oct/Nov hatch it stayed around 40% dry, this hatch if I ran totally dry would be 16% because of the pellet stove and dryer air.
