Hey everyone! I started incubating my own eggs for the first time at the beginning of the month. This morning I woke up to one of the eggs pipped on day 20!! I am so excited! Patiently but anxiously awaiting the others for signs of pipping.
I should be getting some langshan/cochin crosses and possibly some seramas (although I think I only have 1 serama egg incubating currently). I'm using the Kebonnixs incubator, and while it wasn't my first choice, my mom got it for me for my birthday in January. It's been working really well so far! I use my own temp and humidity gauge, but the Kebonnixs seems to be accurate as well. It has it's own egg turner, candling light, and you can add water externally.
The only issue with the incubator I've had so far is for lockdown, it didn't seem to want to get the humidity up higher than 50%, so I put a (new and clean) wet kitchen sponge inside and that did the trick. Hoping for a good survival rate for my little chickies <3
