First time hatching, advice wanted!
I put 12 eggs under my broody hen Aug.22. One hatched sometime during the day Sept.11, but was dead when I found it. Quickly removed it and cleaned nest box. Another hatched sometime Sept.12 (saw his head sticking out briefly). I have food and water in the nesting area. Other then that, should I just leave mom and chick(s) alone or should I check to see if anymore have hatched and if they are ok? How long do I wait to remove any unhatched eggs?
Thanks everyone!

Much depends on the broody herself. But in general, she should be fine without any help, and most will start tending to the chicks when all the chicks that are going to hatch have done so. 48 hours from first to last is a general guideline, so if she continues to sit past that, you may want to investigate any other eggs.
