First time incubating duck eggs HELP !!

Ok i was going by the day counter on the incubator that started off at day 0 on first day and its saying day 29 now
I opened up the one that was black inside as it had a smell to it and duck had pipped inside and it was so dry so what does that mean ?

From my experience, ducks are the hardest to incubate in an incubator. This hatching season coming up I am letting my geese girls brood any fertile eggs.

The picture worked, but I was hoping to see it before it was pulled out of the egg - like the pip and the membrane over it, etc.

Oh right sorry i didnt take one .... it was just very dry with like white crusty stuff and membrane was brown

Did the membrane seem like it was pulled tight around the duckling?

This is no help as far as incubating but...I did an experiment with duck eggs and a broody mamma chicken this summer. She hatched and mothered 7 baby ducks for me. It was a success as far as her hatching the eggs however I didn’t want more ducks soooo....lol.
