first time incubating, first set of eggs went in about an hour ago

i have a baby, 3 more pipping, and one egg rolling all over the bator. maybe by in the mornin ill have more babies. they are mutts but they will be beautiful mutts.

how long do i need to leavethem in the bator until i move them to the brooder?

the baby that hatched is solid white so far.

i might just post pics tomarrow. im pooped, been picking english peas today.

i hope everyones hatch goes well!

Melissa, Congrats ! You need to leave them in the bator until they are completely dry and fluffy. No set time limit. Also I would leave some of them in there as long as I could because it seems to me that the chirping encourages the others to pip and zip. Good luck on the rest of them. Kind of cool isn't it !!!!

I woke up this mornin, 1 more chick out but it doesn look like its ok. its breathing but it wont try to get up and go like the other one did, it lays and and scoots. i have another one try to get out now, i've been good. all i do is go in there and check on them i haven't touched them. i see another egg one of them poked the hole but it hasnt came out and doesn't seem to chirping either.

the two thats out is chirping, and one of the bantams thats almost out is chirping, man those critters are loud!

I dont think I have any that are going to hatch I keep thinking I hear sounds but I think its just in my head.

I am using a Little Giant Incubator & opted to hand turn rather than use the turner. I have 28 eggs in the incubator, but am worried b/c when I hand turn, the temp drops 5+ degrees in spite my turning the eggs as quickly as possible. Is this OK?? Also, the thermometer reads 99.5 laying flat on the screen - and, the humidity is @ 35-45%. The last eggs I ordered failed to hatch (the gal who sold them to me believes the P.O. damaged them), so I am a little paranoid!

im really not sure, i used a turner in mine. this was my first set i put in the bator.
