first time incubation questions

ok 18 and I see four or five of my eggs :Drocking. They are now on lockdown and will not be touched. How long until I can expect baby chicks? This is now Tuesday afternoon and they 21 isn't until Friday.

Did you incubate upright? Sometimes they will rock when you lay them down, as they start settling in preparation of hatching.
With as full as you said the eggs are, and if temps have stayed steady 99.5-100, then you may see pips day 19-20. Actual hatching should be within 24 hours after pip. :fl good luck!

5 of them were upright just as a test. The ones that are rocking are the ones that have been laid down the whole time. I'm so excited!

it is day 19 for me and two of them have pipped! I know that this is a long process but since this is my first hat I do not plan on leaving the incubator lol. I'm so excited!

baby number 1 arrived just a little while ago. Its name shall be October. I'm so anxious. 27 more in the incubator and three more have pips!!

Congrats on your hatch. Do you already have the brooder ready for them? I hope it is a large one with 28 chick you will need a big one. One of my hatches I had 20 chicks in a 1 1/2 x 3 feet and they outgrew it fast. Had to put them outside with a heat lamp early this spring.

my husband built them one a few days ago. It's fairly large almost as big as our dining room table lol baby number two just arrived about eight minutes ago I'm so excited!
