Don’t forget to take pictures! :D

Ha , they are pretty good photo bombers . Here they are after about 1/2 hr in their new home .

They are checking everything out , chest bumping , flapping their wings , scratching through the shavings , generally having a ball . Their heat plate is set up and plugged in just in case but they have not gone near it and its about 70* - 71* here now .

Even at this young of an age it seems the 3 Orpingtons are the friendliest/calmest .

Aww, cuties. Yeah, my Orps have always been way friendlier and calmer than the Barnevelders, even though both breeds are advertised as friendly. I really only got the Barnevelders for their looks though. If I ever add more chickens, I’ll only be getting Orpingtons.

My Barred Rocks are really friendly and calm , the Red Stars are friendly but a bit hyper . Hope my daughters Orps are all hens but I know they probably won't be .

My daughter sent a text early this morn , the chicks all made it through their first night in the coop just fine . They did go under their heat plate but it did go down to about 51F last night so that's understandable . When she checked this morn after sun up they were out running and scratching in their new digs .

Last night (Monday) right before dark . The chickies are all doing great , they seem very content in their coop . Another day or so and we'll open the pop door so they can check out the run .

Chicks are 4 weeks old today , son in law got Wyze Cam set up in coop and run . Chicks have been in coop now for a week , they've had run access for 3 days . The heat plate has been off and removed since Thursday . They are all fine and healthy , eating , drinking , scratching . They are just like kids , they don't know how to walk , they run and fly .In a few weeks I'll post some close ups and see if we can tell how many cockerels we have .

Chicks were 5 weeks old yesterday . All are happy and healthy . I am guessing one , maybe possibly two of the Orpingtons are cockerels , the EE's its looking like just one is a cockerel (just going by single row triple row combs on the EE's) . Time will tell for sure , I'll post some closeups in another week or so .
