Gloria: Sometimes animals know whats the best solution for them when it comes to motherhood. My doberman had a litter of 22 puppies a few years back, she laid on them on purpose to dispose of them. I know thats what she was doing. She had too many to feed and knew it. She would look right at me with her big brown eyes, lay down right on a puppy, knowing I was going to yell at her but it was just like, she couldnt help herself. It was instink I believe. With the help from a friend of mine and myself bottle feeding around the clock we saved 18 pups. NEVER again! LOL
Im glad that you have moved them to a bator for now. At least they can hatch and you wont have to worry about them getting old or rolled out...Which brings up another question:
How come when we have chicks they need to be kept at 95 degrees for the first week and down 5 degrees per week until feathered out, but the hen runs around with the babies in toe even in the colder months and the chicks dont die?
I put my new eggs in the bator early this morning so we have another hatch date of Sept 25th.
You all have a wonderful day. Im going outside to do meatie chores, catch ya's later on.
