I personally wouldn't take a chance with sealing it. I had a 29 gallon start leaking, didn't notice until the water level dropped. I just got a new tank.
Well, it isn't like I don't have backup tanks for if it does leak so I think its worth a try if you never try you don't know and I could miss out on a chance to have more fish:ya
 
Well,I'll tell you what,if I can fix this thing without it leaking and I put some Cory's in it and if its fine I will use it and send in pictures I will only put fish in it that I can put in my other tank without overstocking it,are we all ok with that?
 
We once had a 20 gallon tank with a crack up high so the water was always just below the crack. One day it cracked even more(even though we put silicone on it) so we transferred the fish before it broke or started leaking

That's why Ill have an emergency transfer tank
