I bought this light today. Hoping its good for the plants .

So for everyone w/ sick fish and dont have a clue how to treat. I found this at wal marts today. It was $5.00 I think its only for 10 gallon so you would need more for a bigger tank.

Thanks, I dont know about light spectrum's so I am guessing if anything it wont hurt. LOL

I am sure yours will be good too!! I thought I had read something about needing fluorescent to grow plants but now I’m finding a bunch of stuff that says you can grow plants with LEDs so

The light on it now is led . But small I am getting new growth on the plants .

I wonder if I should have bought LED... hmmm... I read it doesn’t work to grow plants but now I’m reading the opposite and seeing your success.... I worry the fluorescent might give me headaches haha but I’m not usually in my room much during the day anyway so maybe it doesn’t matter haha

But I already bought it so oh well I guess.

Though I do think LED looks better too.

Leds wont last as long in my experince. I would gladly trade but this is what came built into the hood. Its a marineland . My other tanks are like yours . I bought a bulb from wal mart that says for plants and switched it out. I do notice a difference in the plants 2 weeks out so either will work.

Thank you!! That’s good to know!! I think I will keep it then!! I think this one said it was good for plants but I’m not sure. I think they have special plant ones I might have to buy haha I actually did buy some but they were the wrong kind
