A few potted plants inside and out will be lovely!

Thank you!!! I think they will love all the new room haha think I might go to the pond place down the road or the new pet store also down the road tomorrow and see if they have any plants for it haha

There’s another much smaller one in the front garden that has plants and some stones and stuff around it and it looks nice, though we don’t really maintain it. The frogs love it.

So I think I’ll definitely put plants in and around this one. Plus it will maybe give them shade.

I put a pond box in last year. I need to finish cleaning it and get it running for this year.

Who else has fish!?

I’ve had various fish over the years including an awesome planted 10 gallon betta tank at one point but then I got out of it for several years. Didn’t think I would get more as the maintenance was just too much and I didn’t really enjoy it anymore.

That is until I spontaneously bought several goldfish almost 3 years ago now.

Bought 6 feeder goldfish from Petco, two died early on for various reasons, still have 4. They are huge now.

They have outgrown their current tank so I’ve been having to do a lot more water and filter changes to keep them healthy but I am finally upgrading this week. Ordered a new filter and some other stuff to set it up today cause it was way cheaper online and I am going to buy a big huge 75 gallon tank from the pet store tomorrow. Was going to today but didn’t get to it. But they’re having a big sale so taking advantage of it.

They will be in the 75 for winter since it’s too cold to move them out now but come spring I will also be building a pond for them. From then on they will be in the pond for the spring, summer, and fall, and inside for winter. Unless I make the pond deep enough to not freeze completely which I am also considering but that’s a lot more expensive.

But ANYWAY.

Long story short, I currently have 4 goldfish and I will also be getting a betta fish again this week.

They had some GORGEOUS bettas in there and I couldn’t resist so also ordered stuff to set up a betta tank.

So tomorrow I will be picking up a 75 gallon, a 10 gallon, and who knows what else.

And once the tanks are established, I’ll be going back to pick up my betta and probably some more goldfish. They have some super pretty goldfish too.

ANYWAY.

Let’s see those fish!!!

That looks amazing!!! I should have put mine in a box but I didn’t really think of that.

It was a ton of work....actually 2 tons. Freestanding is absolutely fine!

Cleaning mine is proving to be a real pain.

Nice ponds!
Ive been dreading cleaning mine out. After having to start over with new fish last year I lost a little enthusiasm and didn’t close it down properly for the winter. It made for a gross mess.
Over this past week I got it all cleaned out, potted some water lilies, and my husband made me a box to enclose my filter Next I need to re stain the dock and fix the rock around the edges. After that I have patio to put in so we can finally get out patio furniture and gazebo set up. I feel guilty we’ve had all the supplies in storage for over a year now

I finally set up my “pond.” I’ll be digging a real pond eventually but I figured it was finally warm enough to get them out of their tank and moved outside. I won’t move them for a few days though so it has a chance to get established (put some gravel from their current tank in it to help with this) and also because the water is ICE COLD right now and I don’t want to shock them.

But yeah.

I’m not really sure how to adjust the flow so it actually looks nice instead of stupid but I’m going to figure that out later too because I stuck my hand in the water a few times trying to do it and I swear I almost got hypothermia.

All I really did was rinse it out and fill it but still
