Yep. A land snail climbed inside my car seat when I was a kid, it stunk.

I’m glad COVID nerfed my sense of smell because I imagine it would’ve been 100% times worse and I would’ve done more than just gag.

If it’s safe for invertebrates, it probably won’t work. That’s like a reef-safe ich medication. Hopefully it works.

The ich is clearing up on the loaches and nobody else has shown symptoms of it, so that’s something. It says to continue dosing for three days after no symptoms can be observed. This is the first time dealing with ich and it’s good I had some Just-In-Case medication on hand.

I think marine inverts are worse. A dead anemone or snail is just gag.

Whew, been a while!
I got some tiger barbs for my new tank this week. One is looking a bit iffy but the rest seem to be doing perfectly well . I also picked up some more nerite snails, one for the quarantine tank, and one each for my betta spawning tanks. One of the spawning tank snails is looking meh, if it kicks the bucket I'll move the one from the quarantine tank in there.

Also got some ghost shrimp for the 10-gallon betta tank. 3 have died, hopefully that means the remaining 7 are alive and not just dead and hiding from me. I have a terrible time keeping shrimp alive.
I was trying to take a nap a couple days ago and the whole time, my younger cat just sat in front of the tank and yelled about the shrimp. She thinks it's her duty to inform me with Suspicious Things are moving in tanks (fish are not suspicious and neither are snails, but snakes are and I guess shrimp are too).

Anyway, I also got a few more pieces of equipment for the betta spawns, so hopefully once the final one arrives we'll be good to go for another attempt!

So I have a 10 gal tank with 3 neon tetras and I want to get some more fish. I was thinking of getting 2 more neon tetras, I don't know how they would do with our existing tetras though. I also want some other kind of fish, what would be a good tetra tank mate and would not be too big?

Any kind of tetra, rasboras, danios, or platies. Some barbs could work but you'll have to look into the exact species as some can be more aggressive. You can also add in things like corydoras and otocinclus for something entirely different. Or you can just make one big neon school and get like 10 of them .
