That's a gorgeous tank. You definitely don't want anything too rough in there messing up all the plants.

Thank you so much! I don't think I can fit anything that could ruin them anyway, maybe some dwarf frogs, but I don't like those. I do enjoy the nimble fish, small, yet interesting behaviour, with delicate colours

Here's one of the main videos I've been falling back on. In general I really trust Aquarium Co Op.
Good source of information.

I'm converting my aquariums' filters to Aquarium Co-op sponge filters, but still have an OTB filter on my 5.5g and a canister on my 29g. I'm getting there.

The aquarium co op sponge filters are a really nice product. Wish they'd ship internationally. After running my aquaeon (i believe) sponge filter for about two years (actually it might be more than that), I can definitely say that the small details Cory prides himself in adding to the filter really help. I could barely fit my airstone inside the filter. The base itself wouldn't sink unless the sponge sunk. The fine sponge also isn't the greatest. Not so noticeable with a small bioload, but it definitely helps. What's your stocking on your 5.5?

I just discovered this thread, am not sure if aqadvisor.com has been mentioned yet. It's a fantastic tool for figuring out compatibility and stocking levels.

Also, wetwebmedia.com is an amazing resource for all things aquatic.
