I also want a sponge filter
Oh wowNever had a fish. But my friend named a fish after me and it ate all the others. Old Molly had an appetite for seafood just like me![]()
That it was very hard to clean. And plugged our filters. But that was before sponge filters.May I ask what you didn't like?
I've had both male and female bettas in the past. They're not very long-lived as I recall.I came back home today to my plakat betta sitting at the bottom of the tank, not normal at all, he always greets me by the side of his tank. He came up to greet me only after I turned his lights back on, again not normal. He has bloated and his fins are clampedthis morning he was perfectly normal, ate his two pellets and was his funny self. I don’t know if he is pineconning yet but his scales seemed slightly raised. I did a 6 minute epson salt bath and he seemed a bit more perky.
I feel horrible for the little guy, we shall see what state he is in the morning… He is my first betta and has helped me grow a lot as a fish keeper. I got him around 9 months ago, he was already a year old or so when I got him. Although I will say for a month or two after I first got him the water perimeters were not the best (high nitrates) so it may have caught up to him.

I did, 0 Ammonia 0 Nitrite and around 7-10 Nitrate.I've had both male and female bettas in the past. They're not very long-lived as I recall.
Did you check your water today for ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels?
