Gravel, but I want to change it to something else once we start up the tank again.
I think the tank needs a complete redoing.

Ok, in that case you'll probably need to use root tabs. They work great (I've got the crypts to prove that)! Best of luck, and post pictures!

Gorgeous! Mine are out and about, and have had breakfast for about 40 minutes. They're glass surfing a tiny bit, so I might need to get a few more in the coming weeks

I checked the nitrate levels this morning, they're registering between 20 and 40ppm. I think I will do a small water change before I head outside.

I redid my betta’s tank. It was pretty sparse which my boy didn’t seem to enjoy so I rearranged my plants and hardscape.

Anyone have any suggestions for an easy to take care of and faster growing carpeting plant?

Looking good! Pearlweed, dwarf sag, and potentially some moss carpets? Be aware that you'll have to go through a lot of root tabs, since you have an inert substrate

Thank you! And I do need to buy some root tabs, thanks for that reminder! I tried to put fluval underneath my gravel but it dropped my PH to 6.5 from its normal 7.5-7.6 range when I was cycling the tank, so I promptly removed it.

From what I understand, it does that. Plus, 6.5 isn't a bad PH to be in, especially when keeping betta. I use tropical root tabs, like them quite a bit. My crypts like them more
