Well, Taki wins the prize for my shortest lived betta fish. A few weeks ago he stopped eating and last weekend I noticed he was pineconing😄 After only two months, I had to say goodbye on Tuesday.

Yesterday I was surprised that the first thing I did after waking up was look for him in the tank. Since my errands for the day took me past the LFS (OK, not really...but they did at least put me in the same town and its an hour drive from here to there) I stopped in to see what they had.

And this guy came home with me! He still needs a name, so feel free to throw some at me if you want.

We added 3 angelfish to the 110gal (the fish husband set this tank up for in the first place)! We thought they were koi angels, but when we read the tag on the tank it turns out we got "full red" (aka red devil?) So I'm really excited to watch their color change as they mature.

And I think we may have finally figured out why so many of our fish keep dying. I suspect one of the fish we got last week had mouth fungus. We've lost several platies, swords, and mollies. The one we lost last night was the only one we really noticed a lot of symptoms. The others just seemed skinny, maybe lethargic, and then "suddenly" dead. They went from seemingly completely normal to dead in less than 48 hours.

Gorgeous and wow! Sorry.

Interesting story to share...

I have three aquariums, a 5.5g, 15g, and 29g. Due to Real Life issues I had neglected my cleaning schedule, but dragged out my buckets yesterday to do water changes and clean the filter media.

When I took the glass top off the 5.5g I noticed a dry nerite snail on the top, very dry. I thought maybe it left the tank and couldn't find its way back in.

The shell wasn't empty, so I dropped the snail in the 29g tank which I'd just finished cleaning, hoping it wasn't dead. It just sat on the sand. I sighed and started cleaning the 5.5g filters. About 10 minutes later I noticed the snail had righted itself and was moving along the substrate!

I'm glad it was able to survive until I noticed it on the tank top.

Wow!!!!!!!!!

Question, so somehow all 20 goldfish survived in the pond. Would it be best to get a small plastic pool or another object similr to put the goldfish inside for the winter? Last winter it completely froze but there wasnt fish or a heater. We have to replace the liner in the pond anyways. So they would need somewhere to go. Id just put pond water in the pool so this way its already water they are in.

How big are the goldfish? As long as there's adequate filtration either a plastic pool or stock tank/rain barrel should work. The key is the filtration, not enough and you're going to have to do a lot of water changes to keep them healthy.
