Flaky Skin on silky chick - normal or not??

I have a silky chick who is now 7 weeks old.
She was hatched in a incubator, and sadly she was the only one.
But she's doing well, eats well, is chirpy and dancing around happily - she regularly jumps up and tries to fly across the room.
When she settles down for a snooze she does a lot of fluffing her feathers out and has a good scratch around.
I've noticed that there seems to be a lot of flaky skin on the floor when she's finished her scratching - just wanted to check if this is normal or should I be concerned??

Thanks for any advice

If she's getting new feathers, the flakes you see are most likely the sheath of the new feathers flaking off as the feather emerges and opens. This is completely normal. Does she have pin feathers (new feathers emerging)? Here's a picture of what they look like. http://www.avianaquamiser.com/posts/How_chicken_feathers_grow/
Welcome to BYC, BTW ...
