flea meds????

siz,

Sentinel is only for dogs, so you will still need to use something else for your cats. I know many people who liked Revolution for their cats but I think Advantage/frontline are still a little better at effectively killing fleas.

When I said you can "mix a topical" with Sentinel, I should have said just Frontline or Advantage. There have been no studies done mixing it with the topicals that do flea and heartworm (like Revolution)...plus two heartworm medications would be overkill anyways.

I also forgot to say, If you have a huge flea infesation right now, you can get one pill each of Capstar for your pets. It doesn't last all month like the other medications, but its usually cheap and does a awesome job of killing fleas immediatley. I have actually watched dead fleas fall off animals several hours after they had a Capstar. Capstar should be only used as a treatment and not a preventive (not every month). You can mix frontline/advantage with Capstar. Wait 72 hours after giving Capstar to start Sentinel.

Capstar is great we have it now along with frontline but wanted something better for our situation.we have a lot of animals.

This is our new dog BO he is a Boxer who is 35-40 lbs underweight. We went to buy a new crate for our Saint and he was tied to a tree in the yard...so we took him too.

Just a reminder... Make sure you read the dosage for the flea meds..

My mom is a vet tech and there are always people coming in with pets that are overdosed and sometimes die.. especially cats, and small dogs..

Oh I know... thanks though... I have to get 6 different sizes

what a pain

I'm currently using K-9 Advantix for the dogs and Revolution for the cat. We don't have a flea/tick problem but our neighbors do so our regime must be working.

I didn't know that K-9 Advantix was so toxic to cats. My cat and dogs aren't exactly buddy-buddy, but they do share common space. I'll have to ask my vet about it.

I think our chickens and guinea also help with the external parasites on our pets by keeping the yard under control.
