I read somewhere that it is a good idea to wash your chickens with a flea/ tick shampoo before e taking them to a show. i also read that it is a good idea to dust your chickens with flea powder after the show. Are either if these necessary? if so, iid there a special chicken flea powder or shampoo?

You don't need to use a flea/tick shampoo, usually. Water and some mild shampoo or dog shampoo work well. If you see a mite infestation, the flea and tick shampoo may be a good idea. I have never had to wash my birds with flea and tick shampoo.

It is a good idea to dust birds for mites both before and after a show. Many people use Sevin dust. Alternatively, you can put a drop of Frontline spray on them, or spray with another commercial mite protector/killer like Poultry Protector.
